Trust in Danish journalists and news media

A widespread myth exists that trust in Danish journalists and news media is very low and declining. However, available data show a more nuanced and positive story when taking longer trends into consideration. In 2020, my colleagues and I wrote an analysis in Politiken highlighting this paradox. In 2021, we published a Danish journal article in Politica presenting results from several longitudinal and comparative data sources.

New data is continuously collected and published. To keep track of media trust trends in Denmark and abroad, I therefore update the figures below when possible. The data come from public reports and online sources published by Radius Kommunikation, the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, and the European Commission. The latest version of the data is available here.
